Easy Dairy Free Fish Pie

Ingredients

  • 750g Frozen fish

  • 1kg Sweet Potato

  • Asparagus

  • 75g plain flour

  • 600ml dairy alternative milk

  • 1 medium onion - sliced

  • 25g dairy alternative spread

  • 25g dairy alternative cheese

Preparation

  1. Start with making the mash; peel the potatoes and cut into even sized chunks.  Put in a large pot with cold water.  bring to the boil and cook until tender.  Mash potatoes with the dairy alterntaive spread until smooth.  Add alternative cheese spread and mix until smooth. Set aside

  2. Moving on to the pie; pour soya milk into a large non-stick pan.  Add onion and bring to the boil.  Carefully add the fish and let steam for 15 minutes. or until fish is cooked.  Remove fish from the pan and set a side.  Pour soya milk through sieve into a jug and set aside.  Discard onion.

  3. Preheat the oven to 190'C/gas mark 5.  Melt 75g alternative spread into non-stick pan.  Add plain flour, mix well and cook over a low heat for 1 minute.  Continue to stir until smooth and thick.

  4. Flake the fish into a shallow ovenproof dish.  Pour the sauce above over the fish.  Top with the mashed sweet potatoes,  work your way around the sides of the dish before heading into the middle of the pie.  Bake for 30 minutes.  

  5. Serve with asparagus
