Slow Cooker Lamb

About the Recipe


  • Leg of Lamb

  • 1 red onion

  • 2 garlic gloves

  • 500ml vegetable stock 

  • 4 carrots

  • 2tbsp flour

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2tbsp olive oil


  • Heat oil in large non-stick frying pan.  Place leg of lamb in heated pan until each side is browned

  • Add onion, garlic, carrots to slow cooker and set it to low

  • Remove lamb from frying pan and place in slow cooker

  • Add butter to frying pan and went bubbly, stir through flour.  Whisk in stock gradually and bring to boil to create gravy

  • Pour gravy over lamb, place lid on slow cooker and cook for 8 hours

  • Remove lamb and let rest.  Strain liquid into a pan and simmer until it becomes slightly thicker.  

  • Ready to serve

Can be served with mashed potato, green veg and gravy
